DEALING WITH IT: ACT & Art Therapy for Cancer and Life Changing Medical Illness

  • Woodfords Club 179 Woodford Street Portland, ME, 04103 United States (map)

This is a one day, in-person experiential training that provides clinicians with a skillset to effectively support clients. ACT and Art Therapy uniquely empower us to move from surviving to living fully.

Living fully recognizes that while people living with major medical illness may not be able to control the outcome of their illness, they do deserve to live as well as they can for as long as they can. This is why we’ve titled the training- Dealing With It. When we’re dealing with something, we’re likely to feel more resilient and empowered.

Participants will be provided with an art supply kit for the training, which includes a sketch book, oil pastels and colored pencils. You don’t need to be an artist or art therapist to use these techniques.

At the training, you’ll receive handouts for the exercises that we’ll practice. A digital copy of the training slides will be sent by email 24 hours before the training for you to print, if desired.
